Ambala:
Congress Ambala seat candidate Varun Chaudhary Mullana filed his nomination papers for contesting
Lok Sabha elections
on Thursday. Varun was accompanied by former Haryana chief minister (CM) and leader of opposition (LoP)
Bhupinder Singh Hooda
, Congress Haryana chief Udai Bhan and former minister Nirmal Singh.
Pooja filed the papers as Varun’s backup candidate.
Before filing papers, Congress leaders addressed a public gathering, where they promised that Industrial Model Township (
IMT
) will be constructed in Ambala to promote industry and employment when Congress government is formed.
Hooda said this is not just the Lok Sabha elections, but a fight to save the Constitution of the country. “This is why the opposition parties have united and formed the INDIA alliance. In Haryana, this alliance is contesting the elections with full strength, and all communities are going to ensure victory for the INDIA alliance and defeat of BJP. This victory will lay the foundation of Congress government in Haryana along with the Centre,” he said.
“When the Congress government is formed, 30 lakh youth in the Centre and more than 2 lakh in Haryana will get permanent government jobs as per their merit, without any paper leak. Besides, farmers will be given guarantee of MSP and freedom from debt,” he said.
Wooing the voters, Hooda added that, “State employees will get old pension scheme and elderly people will get Rs 6000 old age pension. Congress has also promised to provide 300 units of free electricity and gas cylinders for Rs 500 in the state. The Congress manifesto also promises 50% reservation in jobs for women and Rs 1 lakh annually,” he added.
Hooda and Udai Bhan appealed to people to vote for their party candidate.
Bhan said the party has fielded a very dedicated, educated and committed youth from Ambala in the elections in Varun Mulana.
“His performance as an MLA has been excellent. Despite being in the opposition, he has been chosen the best MLA. If such a candidate represents Ambala in the Lok Sabha, he will definitely perform his best in the Parliament also,” Bhan said.
On this occasion, Varun encouraged the supporters with the slogans ‘Hath Badlega Halat’ (hand will change circumstances) and ‘Ladenge-Jeetenge’ (will fight and win).
“Congress fulfils whatever it says, whereas BJP makes big promises and claims but does not do even small work. The people will force the BJP, which is used lathis and bullets on farmers, and forcing the youth to leave the country due to unemployment, to leave power. The public will change the government that talks about changing the Constitution,” Varun said.
