Ankita Lokhande declines Karan Johar’s offer to join ‘Student Of The Year 3’ web series

If reports are to be believed, Ankita Lokhande was recently offered a role in Karan Johar’s upcoming web series, ‘Student Of The Year 3’. However, the ‘Pavitra Rishta’ star has opted to turn down the opportunity.

As reported by News 18, Ankita was approached for a role in ‘Student Of The Year 3’, which is slated to be a web series. Despite the prestige associated with being part of a Karan Johar project, Ankita declined the offer for reasons undisclosed. While on the other hand she was considered for a role in the renowned ‘SOTY’ franchise.

The ‘Student Of The Year’ franchise, known for launching fresh talent, initially debuted on the silver screen in 2012, introducing newcomers Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan to Bollywood. Its sequel followed in 2019, featuring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. However, this time, ‘Student Of The Year 3’ is set to entertain the audiences in a web series format.

During the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Chandigarh, Karan Johar confirmed the shift to digital platforms for the ‘SOTY’ series. He also revealed that the web series will be helmed by director Reema Maya of ‘Nocturnal Burger’ fame. Johar emphasized that Maya would bring her unique vision to the project, aligning with her creative sensibilities to craft a distinct narrative.

While reports speculate on the potential casting of Shanaya Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan in ‘Student Of The Year 3’, no official confirmation has been made yet regarding their involvement in the project.
