TIRUPATI: Ex minister

Bhuma Akhila Priya

is supremely confident of making a strong

political comeback

at the

faction ridden

Allagadda assembly constituency in Nandyal district in the

2024 general elections

.
Bhuma Akhila Priya made her accidental electoral debut in the 2014, which was necessitated after the sudden demise of her mother and former MLA Shobha Nagireddy in an accident.

Within months after her mother’s demise, her father Bhuma Nagireddy, a three time MP from Nandyal and a strongman of the erstwhile combined Kurnool district, which was infamous for its faction politics, also died due to a massive heart attack in 2017.
She later on went to serve as the youngest minister in Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet during the TDP regime.

After the irreparable personal loss of both her parents, Bhuma Akhila Priya and her husband Bhargava Ram were mired in a series of cases and were also troubled by groupism within the numerous factions at Allagadda, which were well controlled by both her parents for several decades.
While the infighting within her family supporters led to her electoral debacle in 2019, when she lost the elections to her family’s arch rival Gangula Brijendra Reddy, Akhila Priya says the “one chance Jagan wave” was also a major reason for her defeat in the previous elections.

“The 2019 defeat taught me life lessons which I would never have learnt had I won the elections. Today, I’m supremely confident about my victory in the upcoming elections, as people of the constituency, like elsewhere in the state, are fed up with the anarchy, unleashed by the YSRCP regime in the last five years”, Akhila Priya noted.
“If you recall, there was not a single fake case booked against the followers of our arch rivals, the Gangula group, during the TDP tenure, when I was a minister. But after the YSRCP govt came, they have booked tens of cases against me, my husband and my younger sibling Jagath Vikyath Reddy. This clearly shows their vengeance filled politics”, the ex minister observed.
“Apart from that,

Allagadda

reels under the impact of extreme backwardness due to the impact of faction politics. While the TDP tried to address this issue by initiating various development measures, the YSRCP regime has thwarted the progress achieved and the people of the constituency are extremely disgruntled with this and are eagerly awaiting for the polling day to end the YSRCP rule at Allagadda as well as in the entire state as well”, Akhila Priya exuded confidence.
