One of the most renowned actors in Indian film history was the veteran star,

Dilip Kumar

. The majority of actors in Hindi movies have expressed how much they have admired Dilip’s performances in films like ‘

Mughal-e-Azam

’, ‘

Devdas

’, and ‘Ganga Jamuna’ and how seeing one of his films has influenced them. Actor

Tej Sapru

, who portrayed villains in a number of movies during the 1980s and 1990s, recently shared an experience when

Dilip

asked for his feedback.

During a conversation with Lallantop Cinema, Tej revealed that Dilip was acquainted with him thanks to his father, veteran actor DK Sapru. Dilip was also fond of Tej as he played badminton at the state level.
When Tej first started acting, he was well-known for his action and often performed stuns by himself without the need for stunt doubles. Tej remembered that while shooting for a film called ‘Kanoon Apna Apna’, he had to do an

action scene

with Dilip. Since Tej was performing a sequence involving physical action beside an experienced celebrity, he was first apprehensive. He recalled, “When I had to do an action scene with him, one tends to… you know, he was a senior. So you are careful that you actually don’t hit him.”
Dilip Kumar approached him just before filming began and told him, “Sapru, I hear you do a lot of action. So when I hit you with a blow, please tell me if I am making a mistake. We shared a great rapport.”

He shared another incident about working with Saira Banu’s brother on the set of a Bhojpuri movie. Tej said that Dilip had visited the set to see the filming and had noticed Tej exhibiting hesitation when holding the dancer during a dance routine. “He told me, ‘See, when the girl sits on your lap, you grab her in the end.’ He said it so nicely,” he recalled. “He had a certain style, and he would say things with such eloquence,” the actor shared.
In 2021, Dilip Kumar passed away. His age was 98 years.
